Salary: $40,000/yr to $42,000/yr, depending on experience
Job Classification: Regular, Full-Time (40 hours/week), Non-exempt
Schedule: Work Schedule: Mon (8:30am-4:30pm), Tues and Thurs (8:30am-6:30pm), Wed. (8:30 - 4:30) Fri (8:30am-12:30pm) at 21 S Wahsatch Ave

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Program Manager, this position will provide support for Partners in Housing programs. As the Lead Money Mentor and Credit Counselor, this position will assist Partners in Housing client families in deepening their financial knowledge, strengthening their financial foundation through one-on-one education along with execution of finance focused group classes. This responsibility will also include establishing the curriculum and monitoring of program services and reporting Partners’ progress. Additional responsibilities are data entry and organization, Partner family support, and program volunteer support and guidance.

Education: High School diploma or GED. Associate’s degree or higher preferred. Credit Counselor Certification or willingness to become certified within six months of hire.
Experience: Two years’ experience in a business setting. Preferably in a social service or financial management/education environment. One year of experience supervising volunteers or staff. Proficient computer skills with experience in data entry. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
Or other background demonstrating application of the following knowledge, skills,
and abilities:

  • Ability to motivate, activate and organize others, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Experience with Apricot, Signup Genius a plus.
  • Knowledge of Colorado Springs social service agencies a plus.
  • Proficient computer skills with experience in data entry.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Solid understanding of business principles.
  • Working knowledge or willingness to learn the dynamics of families experiencing homelessness.
  • Ability to organize diverse tasks in a busy office.
  • Ability to exhibit sensitivity to and serve those with difficult and unusual requests and situations.
  • Ability to work with a variety of people on a regular basis effectively.
  • Experience with credit check analysis and credit counseling.
  • Experience with household budget analysis and guidance.
  • Experience with Financial Literacy training and guidance
  • Ability to interact with a variety of people effectively.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral) and good interpersonal behavior skills.
  • Background in financial guidance and mentorship.
  • Ability to use good judgement in making referrals.
  • Ability and willingness to work within the established structure but also adapt to client needs.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass drug screen.
  • Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance.
