Thumbprints: Contemporary Watercolor and Ink
One simple mantra: Explore! Through the reductive use of materials, process, and repetition, you will have the opportunity to create a unique contemporary Visual Story with watercolor and ink. You will begin by doing several small experiments utilizing a base of watercolor "Thumbprints," paying close attention to the colors and how the paint is laid down on the paper. Then you'll develop your own Visual Story by using your experiments and adding ink. These Visual Stories can be studies of form, shape, and line, or the expression of an event, thought, or emotion, ranging from abstract to representational. As your final project, you will tell your Visual Story on a larger scale. This class requires no drawing skill and is great for beginners to learn about watercolor and ink. Materials are included for a $10 fee payable to instructor on the first day of class.
