



Women in STEM - Exploring and Equipping
Every Strength Counts along with the Space Foundation and the Zonta Club of the Pikes Peak Area are hosting a STEM Fair for Women for June 17, 2019, (8 AM to 2:30 PM) to be held at the Space Foundation Discovery Center.
If you are thinking about a career in STEM and wonder what it takes please join us for this educational and interactive day. Our keynote speaker will be Jill Tietjen. Ms. Tietjen is an electrical engineer, consultant, women's advocate, author, and speaker. She is the president and CEO of Technically Speaking, Inc., an electric utilities consulting firm which she founded in Greenwood Village, Colorado, in 2000. She has written or co-authored eight books and more than 100 technical papers. A strong advocate for the participation of women and girls in the STEM fields, she establishes scholarships for women in engineering and technology, and nominates women for awards and halls of fame. She was inducted into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame in 2010.
Additional speakers will discuss the prospects in STEM careers currently and for the near future, as well as present practical tools for women considering entering or switching into these fields.
