Wine Tasting: White Hot Summer
It is hot out there, and while many do love a full-bodied red wine with dinner, these these warm days are all about refreshing whites, rosé or lighter reds that can be served slightly chilled. In this Curious Palate White Hot Summer Wines tasting class, we’ll explore white (and perhaps a little rosé ) wines that are great for hot summer days.
When the weather heats up we are likely to be eating lighter foods, cold dishes and salads. In a wine, descriptions like “refreshing” and “crisp” and “light” seem to come in as a whisper on the summer breeze. Translation: prowl for wines with higher acids, lighter bodied, lower alcohol and simple. There are certain grape varieties and wine regions that are better associate with summer days...let’s play, shall we?
