SCWCC Business Lunch
Program Topic: FAMLI, Colorado Secure Savings & How It Could Affect Your Business
Approaching every client problem from two perspectives—what the law requires and what the business needs—Brooke has been counseling employers on all aspects of the employment relationship for more than 15 years. Brooke was selected to serve as a member of the Colorado Chamber of Commerce’s Labor and Employment Council. She actively engages in discussions and negotiations of employment-related legislation.
Brooke will be speaking about two new Colorado laws affecting businesses - FAMLI and the Secure Savings for businesses
FAMLI - approved by voters in 2020 that paved the way for a state-run Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance run through businesses, and
Colorado Secure Savings, a payroll deducted IRA that will also feature automatic enrollment and automatic escalation for participants. This state mandated program will affect most businesses in Colorado, and they will be required to comply unless they offer a different qualified plan instead.
Brandon will address new legislation that passed in the Colorado State Legislative Session that will affect businesses starting in 2023.
