! FREE MID-WEEK MOVIE NIGHT ! Break up your week with a thought-provoking Happy Hour and spirited discussion on July 18 at the Penrose Library.
The short film Miss Representation uncovers a glaring reality we live with every day, by exposing how media contributes to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America.
The film challenges the disparaging portrayals of women and girls, which make it difficult for women to achieve leadership positions and for the average woman to feel powerful.
Insights from teens, provocative interviews with politicians, journalists, entertainers, activists and academics, along with startling facts and statistics, combine to shape a new perspective for women of all ages. Spend no more than an hour or two of your time - just invest in yourself, for a change!
