SCWCC Business Lunch | Jamie Fabos
Join the Women's Chamber to hear remarks by Jamie Fabos, who was appointed as Chief Communications Officer for the City of Colorado Springs last September. A career in traditionally male-dominated industries has shaped Jamie's unique insight on Earning a Seat at the Table and she will share her personal story of establishing a business identity that is congruent with your character and values.
In her new role, Fabos serves as the City’s primary spokesperson and facilitates communication with the media and public from the Mayor, City Council and 21 distinct City departments - plus oversees SpringsTV, all digital media and heads communications efforts during emergency activations. At this month's luncheon, she'll also share some of the City's best news, along with its exciting brand vision moving forward.
Prior to joining the City, Fabos spent eight years as the Communications Director for USA Swimming, where she managed athlete and organizational media requests and communications through two Olympic Games, including Michael Phelps’ historic gold medal haul in 2008. Fabos also spent seven years working in professional and Olympic ice hockey, serving with the NHL’s New York Islanders before relocating to work at the local headquarters of USA Hockey. A mother of twin four-year-olds, she has lived in Colorado Springs for 11 years.
From the NHL Draft floor to the City Hall Boardroom, Jamie Fabos has picked up plenty of tips for building confidence in your abilities, gifts and viewpoints. At the same time, she's learned (through personal experience!) which pitfalls to avoid while seeking her place at the table and learning to thrive. Join us for a dynamic program at our NEW luncheon venue ... the Garden of the Gods Club & Resort.
The SCWCC hosts a Luncheon and Business Meeting on the third Tuesday of each month, featuring an expert speaker and a great program designed to provide insight into topics of interest to our community.
